History of colonial estancias in Argentina

The colonial estancias were the agrarian exploitations characteristic of the current Argentine territory. These were specialized in the production of cattle, especially cattle. They also produced cereals such as wheat and corn, as well as vine, fruit, and sugarcane crops. The Spanish introduced work tools such as the plow and raised horses, cows, sheep, and mules. From the cattle, they obtained milk, leather, meat, and tallow. The mules were used for transport and were subject to important commercialization.
